Experiencing Panchachuli Peaks in the Himalayas: Trekking Majestic Five Summits and Exploring Darma Valley Culture
Standing beneath the towering glory of the Panchachuli Peaks in the Kumaon Himalayas was one of the most breathtaking moments of my travels. These five snow-capped summits, ranging from 6,334 to 6,904 meters, radiate mystique and grandeur, forming an iconic backdrop to the Johar and Darma valleys of Uttarakhand. The local legends say that the Pandavas cooked their last meal here before ascending to heaven, and their story lends deep spiritual significance to the mystical range. My journey began at Munsiyari, a serene mountain town known for its panoramic views and alpine beauty. Trekking towards the Panchachuli Base Camp, I passed through dense forests of deodar and rhododendron, traditional Himalayan villages, and lush meadows alive with the chirping of birds and the sound of glacial streams.
